5/19-5/23

We have already been in South Africa for 5 days, and I can still hardly believe that I am actually here again. Everyday I seem to catch myself in awe of my surroundings and the fact that I am not lost in a memory but actually creating new ones.

For the past few days we have been taking the time to prepare for the up coming weeks. We have been sharing our life stories with one another, spending intentional time in worship, prayer, and self reflection, and doing ministry preparation. These days have been purposely executed to ensure each one of us is able to align ourselves with the Lord. So, once ministry begins we can serve from an outpouring of what we receive from God rather than trying to pour out what we ourselves do not have. For me personally, I have been relishing in these moments, remembering what it's like to rest in the Lord's presence without distraction or other commitments. It has been so refreshing!

And in the evenings, we have been blessed to admire the sunsets from multiple locations around town all while enjoying fellowship with one another.

Tomorrow we start our first day of ministry, and I am very excited. It is unknown to our team (besides the leaders of course) what we will be embarking on, but whatever it is I am certain that the Lord will be glorified.

Praises:

  • Rest and recovery from traveling

    • It took some people a few days to adjust but at this point everyone has finally been able to sleep through the night!

  • Beautiful sunsets, and seeing the Lord's beauty in them

  • The intentional time we have all been able to spend with the Lord, drawing nearer to Him

  • The received visa for one of our teammates

    • There is another girl joining our team from Zambia! For a while now she has been trying to get her visa to join us and we just found out it will arrive just in time for her to join us before one of our longer outreaches!

Prayers:

  • For our team as we begin ministry tomorrow

  • That we would all continue to get the rest that we all need

  • For our new teammate as she gets her visa and prepares to join us

  • That the Lord would continue to reveal Himself in new ways, everyday, to each one of us Enjoy a peak into what our camera rolls have been looking like recently ;)
